The ideals and goals of the Abolition movement was to abolish slavery once and for all and to emancipate all enslaved people. Most abolitionist were white religious Americans but there were also abolitionist who were black leaders that had been released from slavery. One abolitionist leader was William Lloyd Garrison, who was a white journalist that published the antislavery newspaper called the Liberator. In 1833, he also formed American Anti-Slavery Soceity which was an organization that was a point of contact for escaped slaves. Christians abolitionists faith did affect their views on the abolition of slavery. They believed that God intended for everybody to be equal and that one person was not more important than another. Not all christian believed in the abolitionist movement because they believe ( explain in own words 100 words)
