Question 1: Cities grew tremendously during the century from 1830-1930. Identify the “waves” of immigrants that came to these shores during that period(NEW YORK). How many, from where, and when. Tell me how each wave was different from the prior; be specific to the countries/ regions and period. Explain why and how immigration slowed in the period following world war I.
Question 2: many of the reforms of the “reform era” are still affecting politics and enforced today. Identify and define at least four local institutions changes that were made as a result of the reform movement, and explain how each affects politics today.
